The cover girl for our 11th print issue, Celine Euphoria, plays an energetic and exciting A-side session. Filmed during a chilly night in Berkeley California, Celine’s performance was the total opposite. She delivered heat, with her flawless rapping, eccentric stylistic set, and her top pop-star stage presence, she put on an absolute show in that tiny square which she turned into a main stage.

She even changed her outfit mid-set, an A-side first, something our entire staff absolutely appreciated and loved to see. Her outfits were made by her friend and designer, Xochitl, @1800xochi on Instagram.

Celine has new (and old) music set to release on streaming platforms in the coming weeks, so make sure to keep an eye out by following @celine_euphoria on Instagram!

After the performance, Celine talked to us about her musical inspirations, artistic ventures, and the value of a strong team.

Sunny Sangha:

I’m here with Celine Euphoria after her performance. That was absolutely amazing.

Celine Euphoria:

Thank you. Thank you so much. I did that shit. I sat back down, period.

Sunny:

Before we start, I have a little gift for you, a ‘thanks’ for the performance. It kind of matches your vibe, I’d say. This super cute ‘On The Rocks.’

Celine:

Oh my god. ‘On The Rocks’ Premium Cocktails! I’ve been drinking cocktails the past few days so this is perfect. Oh my god, and it definitely does match me! And it’s pink. Like my third or fourth favorite color. Actually my fourth favorite color. Like me, pink. Like pussy.

Sunny:

Celine just finished her set at the Thorsen house, the last time that A-Side will be held here.

Celine:

Period. And like I was saying earlier, the reason why it’s the last performance is because I came so motherfucking hot. We burnt the shit to the motherfucking ground, bitch. There is no roof. It’s gone. Okay, top off. Okay, I shut the shit the fuck down. So if you want to come here and perform, you better come hot. That’s all I have to say.

Sunny:

Perfectly, put Celine. Amazing. Amazing. So the first thing I want to ask is: Where does the inspiration for your music come from?

Celine:

Oh, first off Nicki motherfucking Minaj! No, she’s just someone who I’ve been obsessed with because I do characters and I have a bright personality. When she came into the game she was somebody who was just as extra and had multiple personalities. I was like, ‘Bitch, I got multiple personalities. Hold on, bitch, not you and you’re doing it,’ You know what I mean? So she’s definitely a big inspiration. 2pac as well. And then Lil Wayne, for sure. His flow, his fucking charisma, his fucking vocabulary, everything about Little Wayne. I think he’s the greatest rapper alive period. Nicki and him compete for first place for me.

Sunny:

I love that. I love that. Um, so I want to ask what motivates your artistry? Like today you came in such beautiful fits. Your music videos are phenomenally well put together. So what is the driving force there?

Celine:

Um, I just think I’m a three. That’s my life path number. So, you know, this is what I’m supposed to do. Ever since I could remember I was performing. I came out on my mother’s, you know *tongue click*, and “Hey! let’s go let’s turn up!” You know? My momma knew I was going to be a sassy motherfucking little thing because she said at two years old, I just had too much sugar in my body. So I think it comes from me being a child. Like, I still have my inner child intact. So it’s definitely my inner child that makes me be so creative and gets my music videos out there. I grew up in a time [with] Michael Jackson and the Janet Jacksons and the Britney Spears. All those people were freaking iconic. Michael Jackson’s music videos — he told a story every single time. It wasn’t like how these music videos [coming out right now] are, like it’s a lot of just “Okey-doke.” It’s like, “Where’s the  ‘Ugh!’?” I need some “Oh my god gag the fuck outta me and choke me, bitch,” you know? That’s what I need, and that’s what I want to come. My last name is Jackson, so I feel like it’s only right that I come as high as Mr. Motherfucking Michael Jackson — the best to do whatever, period.

Sunny:

The fact you said music videos have themes, I totally agree. Your videos are so well put together and the story is so present. If you guys have not seen them… Celine, want to talk about your YouTube real quick?

Celine:

Yes. Okay. Tie Knee dot Jackson,* okay? Period. Go to YouTube. Watch my shit get your life. I got all types of shit. Okay, I got a video about booboo and being obsessed with booboo and My Strange Addiction. I’m not really addicted to booboo but it just came to my mind. I was like “I want to talk about how I’m addicted to booboo.” And I have like two-point something thousand views right now, people are sick! Okay? Y’all are blowing that video up, y’all are sick.

*Channel now under “Celine.Euphoria”

Sunny:

I love that. I don’t want to contain you to three words, but if you had just put your artistry or sound into three words, it can be phrases or themes, what would you say?

Celine:

Hm. Sassy, because I’m just sassy. Icon. Iconicness, uniqueness, all that within the second two. Then my third… How do I describe myself? Fucking insane, bitch. I’m fucking nuts. That quick I switch up, okay? So yeah. What did I say? That quick I fucking forgot. Iconic, sassy, and insanity. Boom bitch.

Sunny:

Absolutely obsessed with that. So when you talked to me earlier, we talked about that you started with acting and that was your first route and then you switched to music. Do you want to get back into acting? A combination of the two?

Celine:

I’m a writer, first off. My number one motherfucking passion is writing screenplays. I write movies and I want to star in them. Then it goes into acting. Then just recently, like 2018, is when I started doing music. I was like “Yo, I kind of like music!” I’ve always been surrounded by [music]. My roommate Oman is a dope-ass artist. He’s a rapper and has been working super, super hard. He’s one of the people who I was like “Wait, my friends can do it, so can I!” same with G, same with Rashad Vee — all of my friends who are doing it. And it’s like “if they can rap, so can I.” But, they’re different from me. I’m Hawaiian — everyone’s who they are. So I feel like imma rap but I’m gonna come in it the way Celine would come in it and the way I would come in it — and that’s like I said: sassy, iconic, and fucking insanity.

Sunny:

The other day you mentioned it takes a village to create the art. Do you want to talk more about that?

Celine:

It definitely takes a village. I have my friends here. Xochitl, Metz. But my outfit is by Xochitl here. Xochitl dressed me down to the motherfucking gods. Okay, we have all of my beautiful babies here, Jaz and Metz as well. They come here to support me. Metz was my little assistant. Makes sure I hit my blunt. Makes sure I get my water, whatever the fuck the case is. And Jeff came for moral fucking support. But this is my team. I have so many other people out there. Y’all know who the fuck y’all are. I appreciate you guys because it definitely takes a village. I know that I come with the vision. I come with my creativity and I come how I want to come. But how am I going to get there? Do you know what I mean? How am I going to present this? I need other people with me. I need other brains. I need money. So yeah, thanks to all my friends that participate in my insanity because they definitely don’t have to do this. Everyone has their own motherfucking life but they choose to take the time out of their life and help me. So I really do appreciate y’all and all my other motherfuckers out there. I love y’all so-motherfucking-much. It definitely takes a motherfucking village. It takes team, it takes love, it takes a lot of getting on each other’s nerves and just pushing through it. Like we’ve gotten on each other’s nerves so many times but we just keep going — hit this blunt real quick! Okay, ain’t going nowhere TJ, Metz, and Xochitl. Thank you all so much. It takes a damn village. And that’s all I have to say, period.

Sunny:

I love that. That was beautifully put, thank you so much Celine. The next thing I want to ask is: out of all the songs you did today, which was your favorite?

Celine:

I would say “Tell Everybody.” That was one of the first songs I wrote when I moved down here in San Francisco. Exactly a year ago on the 27th of this month. I just have a lot of people and like a lot of doubters and nay-sayers. I never listened to the negativity because I’m not a negative person. And I don’t like that type of energy. I try to stay positive. But people talk shit about what you’re not doing or how you’re not going to do this, or how you’re not this way, and how you don’t have as much as them. None of that shit matters. We’re all human beings here. We’re all trying to fucking get paid and try to get this fucking bag and we’re all trying to get it. So it doesn’t matter where the fuck you start. You can be a fucking billionaire and have the fucking world and your life still fucking sucks bitch. It doesn’t matter how much you have. If you think your materialistic shit is everything, have fun, bitch. Because guess what? You got about 80 years left and then you’re done. You’re not taking that shit with you to the next destination. It’s staying right here on Earth. So I try to just do me, and not play into all that negativity bullshit. So yeah.

Sunny:

I love that. Love that so much. So, what are your next career goals in music, or even screenwriting?

Celine:

I definitely want to keep pushing my music. I do have a few artists that I’ve met out here that I definitely want to collab with. As for writing, I’m going to start pushing my shit. I just got all the rights to my shit. I’ve written three scripts so far. I wrote two last year and I finished the last one this year. I got four scripts, actually, because I wrote one in 2016. So four scripts and I own all of them now, I just got my last certificate. So boom, bitch, you can’t steal my shit. I have a billion-dollar brain and I’m just trying to get people to get behind this vision of mine because I feel so relatable. I’m the motherfucker that’s the outcast but also in the in-cast. I’m a disease but in a good way. Like, you can’t get rid of me, okay? I’m here, I’m viral. Once I get into you, you’re gonna be obsessed. You know? That’s what I try to be.

Sunny:

So you switched outfits during your set. Was there a reason that there’s a red outfit for the first song, and blue outfit for the second song?

Celine:

For sure. The red outfit I was coming for war. That’s all I would have to say about the red outfit. Styled by my motherfucking bitch Xochitl, period. Xochitl was working all night last night. They were doing it and putting my pieces together for me. I appreciate you once again. Then this space cow bitch outfit it’s like — I wanted to end it on like a fun, you know, “Oooh!” cutie-little look, you know? It’s more light, it’s more fun. So the first one was my dark side, but still my bad, sassy side. And then on this side, it’s more light. It’s more cute. It’s more “mmph!” You know?

Sunny:

Oh, I love that so much. What should people look out for in Celine Euphoria? What’s coming next? What songs, what albums, what music videos should they keep an eye out for?

Celine:

Okay so that last song, “Twerk It For a N*gga,” I haven’t released that song yet. That’s gonna be my next release. We just shot the music video in my hometown at Hard Park, which is like this big-ass park that looks like a jungle. I was a kitty cat, that’s all I’m saying now bitch. I was purring on the ground and twerkin’ in it for a n*gga. And once again, my friends were a part of that video. I asked them, they came and they brought outfits. My cousin shut it down — big booties, little booties, it all mattered that day. We did what we had to do, so stay tuned for that music video. Once I dropped “Twerk It For a N*gga,” I have one more song from my recent mixtape called “You’re the butterfly.” Once I drop “Twerk It for a N*gga” I’m going to release one more song and that’s going to be the end of part one of “You’re the butterfly.” I just recently dropped that so some of the songs that you guys were hearing last night were from that. But “Twerk it” is for my new mixtape called “Bitch, I’m me,” because bitch, I’m me! And yeah, it will be dropping soon. I don’t know what date because I’m still working on it. But I have the songs finished. I’m just trying to perfect it.

Sunny:

Amazing. I can’t wait to listen to all that stuff when it comes out. Thank you so much for coming Celine. This was an amazing performance, one of my favorites I actually have to say. Do you want to say any closing notes? Do you want to leave the audience a little taste of Celine?

Celine:

Yes, I’ll leave a little bit of meat in your mouth. Pause. Wow. I need head. Bitch fits. That’s all I have to fucking say. No, I’m just kidding. I just want to close by saying thank you guys so much for having me, like, applause to all of you guys. You guys are freaking awesome. This is the dopest thing that I’ve been to. This is the first experience like this that I’ve ever had. And we shut it down together. And I came so hot like a motherfuckin’ asteroid and I destroyed shit, bitch. We did that, we had so much fun and I can’t wait to see the video, Sunny! We did that like oh my goodness. I showed out as you can see. So y’all gotta come hot! because I’m ready for a bag! Labels, managers, all that I’m motherfucking ready and packaged motherfucking up, okay? Send me off UPS FedEx no lie. Alright, thank you guys so much.
