After over three years of experimentation, recording, and extensive production, DJ What So Not released his highly anticipated debut album Not All the Beautiful Things (2018). The album is a 45-minute blend of What So Not’s classic bass heavy trap sound with a wide variety of genres stretching from classic rock to experimental African percussion. The album features fellow Australian Daniel Johns, former frontman of the classic rockers Silverchair, on three different songs which all mark high points of the record.
In support of his new album, What So Not is currently embarking on the Beautiful Things Tour, which stops off at the Fox Theatre on April 5th. Despite this being What So Not’s first album, he has built an impressive following and earned high praise from his peers based largely on his smooth yet powerful and innovative live sets. The current tour, however, promises to be something special. Going past the music, What So Not has worked to create a holistic experience. From the stage design to the visual accompaniment, the entire show was directly built to synergize with the new music to create an “entire world that people can step into,” as What So Not said himself. Make sure to catch this incredible show at the Fox, or on one of the other many stops on the Beautiful Things Tour which will stop in Europe, the US and the UK as well as festivals across the globe.
