Welcome to the official study break edition of the Top Five. As finals draw near, I want to ensure that if you are going to take a break from a library, you’re gathering your squad and enjoying what the city has to offer. From mega-live acts that have sold out two nights at Bill Graham, to veteran DJs set to provide vintage club experiences, there is definitely something out there for everyone. Here are my five picks for the weekend. #1 Odezsa Full Lineup: Thursday, December 10th – Odesza, Goldlink, Hayden James // Friday, December 11th – Odesza, Bonobo (DJ Set), Big Wild Price: Sold Out Date(s): Thursday, December 10th // Friday, December 11th Location: Bill Graham Civic Auditorium Age: 18+ Info Odesza will be enchanting two sold out crowds at Bill Graham this Thursday and Friday as they make their San Francisco stop of their Return Tour. The Seattle duo composed of Harrison Mills and Clayton Knight has become one of the standout, must see acts in EDM. They have an incredibly unique sound, and their live show at such a massive venue will provide for an unforgettable experience. Also don’t sleep on the openers either– if you’re lucky enough to have a ticket to either of these sold out shows make sure to get there when the doors open. #2 Dash Berlin Full Lineup: Dash Berlin Price: Sold Out Date(s): Sunday, December 13th Location: Ruby Skye Age: 18+ Info Dash Berlin will be leading the dominant Ruby Skye weekend lineup this week. Dash Berlin is a staple of dance music, and is one of the most talented technical DJs on the circuit. He had one of the best sets at this year’s Ultra Music Festival, and his production this year, especially his recent edits of “Outside” and “Don’t Look Down,” are of the same caliber. There is a reason this show is already sold out, but if you can get your hands on tickets do not think twice about attending. #3 Don Diablo Full Lineup: Don Diablo Price: $28.25 Date(s): Saturday, December 12th Location: Temple Age: 21+ Tickets It’s a strong club weekend when Don Diablo is your third pick for the week. Don Diablo has been on an absolute tear this year on so many different levels. His production has been phenomenal with tracks like his VIP remix of “Secrets“ and his original “Universe,” his radio show is a weekly must-hear with over 40,000 subscribers, and his Hexagon record label has been putting out hit after hit with tracks like “Theme O“and “Praise You.” Tickets are actually available for this show, and the future-house mastermind will definitely bring a fun and energy-packed set to Temple on Saturday. #4 EDX Full Lineup: EDX, Croatia Squad, Antonio Giacca Price: $30.37 Date(s): Friday, December 11th Location: Ruby Skye Age: 21+ Tickets EDX, a veteran of dance music, will be gracing the decks of Ruby Skye on Friday Night. He will be making the SF stop of his No Excuses tour and will be sure to provide a smooth, clean mix of house music. EDX has had a strong production year with his “Show Me Love“ and “Catchfire“ remixes . If you’re looking for a more “chill” night out, and a diverse lineup, consider seeing EDX. #5 Darude Full Lineup: Darude, Kristina Sky Price: $30.37 Date(s): Saturday, December 12th Location: Ruby Skye Age: 21+ Tickets Trance rounds out the Top Five for the second time this week as Ruby Skye hosts Phoria with Darude and Kristina Sky. Darude has been in the game for almost 20 years, and has been a staple ever since he produced one of the most legendary dance tracks of all time– “Sandstorm.” It seems like Ruby Skye definitely has the winning slate this week, and Darude will be a solid anchor for the weekend. Top Five will be taking a break next week, but will be back in force after Christmas with a special NYE preview edition. As always have fun, stay safe and check back soon for another edition of Top Five. As always, Top Five is written by Chris Farmer.
