The Last Shadow Puppets returned to the Bay in promotion of their latest album, Everything You’ve Come to Expect (2016). Alex Turner, of Arctic Monkeys, and Miles Kane, of The Rascals, reprised their world-famous “bromance” at last week’s Fillmore gig, packing on the PDA. Their dramatic romantic gestures only heightened the intimate feel of the Fillmore’s historic setting. It was evident that the duo was excited to be back at it, playing a mix of songs from their first and second albums. Bringing their set to an exhilarating close, they wrapped up their encore with a cover of The Beatles’ “I Want You (She’s So Heavy),” leaving the Fillmore audience truly fulfilled. Although the next leg of their tour focuses on shows abroad in Asia, Europe, and the UK, you can catch them back in the Bay at Outside Lands, in August. Until then, contemplate the sweet sounds of true bromantic love on their newest album, available on Amazon, Apple Music/iTunes, and Spotify. Article and Photos by Sofia Duarte.
