On tour following the March 2015 release of Lurid Glow, an upbeat and easy to dance to album that is full of energy, Georgia-natives Reptar will bring their talents to the Rickshaw Stop Friday night. Their free-spirited and often joyous sounds are hard to classify under one particular genre, but it’s no mystery why their popularity has grown immensely in past months: with beats reminiscent of indie-rock mainstays Bombay Bicycle Club and the carefree attitude of Grouplove, Reptar brings both typical and atypical new music to the scene. Band members state on their website that a goal of theirs is to “always try and get people moving,” and given the intimate space that is Rickshaw Stop, connecting with the audience will not be a problem. This Friday is part of a full North American tour including future shows in Vancouver, the Midwest, and Atlanta.
