On their latest tour, NYC based Dirty Dishes made a stop in SF last Saturday, February 27,  just in time for the penultimate night of Noise Pop 2016. Also accompanying them in the dimly lit Knockout was Wax Idols, Dinosaurs, and Carletta Sue Kay.

Jenny Tuite (vocals/guitar) and Alex Molini (synth/bass) met at a house party in Boston, where Alex vomited on Jenny’s shoes. Since then, the duo has been making rock. Not just any ordinary kind of rock though, but a shoegazey, grungy, 90’s alternative-esque rock, with some experimental elements thrown in. It’s been described as “blasting bubblegum hooks headfirst into a mountain of speaker-shredding fuzz.”

The duo just released the first full length album last year, Guilty (2015), in addition to their two EPs, The Most Tarnished Birds (2012) and Dirty Dishes (2010). In addition to the digital and vinyl release of Guilty through Exploding In Sound, a cassette version was made available through Seagreen Records.

Their latest tour goes until April, and then they’ll be playing at Firefly Festival in June.
