On December 14th, 2018, Offset is celebrating his 27th birthday with the drop of his first solo album. Following suit with Quavo in October and Takeoff in November, this December release will complete a round of the Migos trio’s solo albums. The three members have evidently been busy, with the upcoming release of Culture III in January in addition to these solo projects. Offset’s album, still untitled, seeks to give insight into his personal life. It will be produced by Metro Boomin with sounds similar to classic Migos trap, while also highlighting a softer, more vulnerable side of Offset largely unknown to the public. Though he can appear intimidating with the face tattoos, gaudy jewelry, and all the drama surrounding his time in jail, many personal experiences contribute to the rapper’s persona. These stem from his deep respect and affection for his mother, the effects of his father’s absence throughout his childhood, his own experience as a father, and the influence Cardi B and their daughter Kulture have had on his life. The album aspires to uncover the complex history and developing character of Kiari Cephus, and relate the artist, Offset, to the world.
