Electronic resurrection in Little Dragon’s latest video Sweden’s Little Dragon just orchestrated an electronic resurrection with their latest single, “Klapp Klapp.” The song’s punkish beats and heavy synth backbone signals a return to a more aggressive electronic approach. Yukimi Nagano’s voice carries over the powerful instrumentals and compliments the intertwined electronic melodies the four-piece is famous for. It’s an explosive start to their upcoming album Nabuma Rubberband. The accompanying music video depicts a woman performing an out-of-body, cult-like ritual that touches on themes of higher inspiration and spiritual connection. The final scene of the video is especially harrowing: the woman gets pulled out of an exposed grave while a lone hand reaches up over the edge. It’s like a rebirth and raises questions that will just have to wait until release day. Nabuma Rubberband set to drop May 13. It will be the band’s fourth full-length.
