On Thursday March 17th, Hiatus Kaiyote came all the way from Australia to perform at the Oakland Fox Theater, giving a rare and magical performance of a lifetime. Their jazz, funk, and soul fusion intertwined with their trippy and lively visuals had the audience mesmerized in cheers, smiles, and a never ending applause. Hearing their album Mood Valiant (2021) live felt transcendent, and their song “Red Room” had the audience swaying and singing along in awe.
