For the last stop of their “then i’ll be happy” tour, glaive and ericdoa provided an extremely energetic performance to an even more enthusiastic audience at a sold-out Brick and Mortar Music Hall on Saturday night. After receiving a crowd-loved opening performance by aldn, the rising hyperpop stars seemed to give their all to the crowd that accepted it with open arms. Ericdoa, a nineteen-year-old from Connecticut, was the first of the two to perform, applauding the crowd for their energy and dancing around the stage as the crowd sang his songs back to him. Glaive, sixteen years old and from North Carolina, seemed unable to stump the crowd with a song they didn’t know every word to after switching places on stage with ericdoa. Even when he played the unreleased and highly anticipated single, “prick,” for which he adorned a cardigan with an embroidered needle and thread, the crowd yelled the lyrics he had been hinting on social media back to him. To truly round off the night of the artists’ joint tour, both came on stage together to perform the entirety of their joint EP, then I’ll be happy (2021). At the end of the show glaive, ericdoa, aldn, and the tour crew gathered on stage to thank the audience and Glaive announced the night to be “one of the best nights of [his] life.” Based off of the smiles at the show’s end, I suspect that many of the audience members would say the same.
