Most cultures consider the number 7 to be special, and the seventh installment of Desert Daze is treating a lucky few to a weekend of musical delights this October 12th-14th. For their seventh annual festival, Desert Daze has moved from the heart of Joshua Tree National Park to the shores of Moreno Beach along Lake Perris, only an hour and a half drive east of Los Angeles. To celebrate the new location and the beginning of a new school semester, The B-Side will be giving away two free pairs of weekend passes to the festival.
The musical lineup is also worthy of much reverence, with artists like Tame Impala, Warpaint, Connan Mockasin, and Jarvis Cocker (amongst others) kicking off the festivities on Friday. On Saturday, Australian prog-rock prodigies King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard take the stage alongside Slowdive, Chelsea Wolfe, and Wooden Shjips. Closing out the final day of the festival we have My Bloody Valentine, Death Grips, Shellac, Ty Segall & White Fence, and Earth performing The Bees Made Honey in the Lion’s Skull (2008).
In addition to three full days of partying and an excellent lineup, Desert Daze 2018 includes all the facilities necessary for a comfortable camping experience, with bathrooms, showers, and power available to festival attendees. The scenic location by the shores of Lake Perris allow for a plethora of daytime watersports such as swimming and boat rides. If taking it easy is more your style, attendees are invited to lounge at the festival’s Italian style beach club.
Stay tuned for updates as Desert Daze has yet to announce this years installation artists, film screening schedule, talks, workshops, and the return of the Mystic Bazaar.
