Noise Pop’s annual Noise Pop Festival will bring singer/songwriter Bruno Major to the Chapel next Tuesday, February 20th. Noise Pop hosts the annual festival, which brings together one of the biggest gatherings of independent artists for a week-long live music event.
This year’s line-up consists of stellar acts including Bruno Major, a UK native who performs as a one-man band, mainly performing vocals and guitar. His releases include an EP (2014) of well-chosen covers (including the seminal “Bad Religion” by Frank Ocean), one single titled “Home,” and lastly a full album titled A Song for Every Moon (2017). Major’s limited discography, however, does not mean his talent is not vast as his limited works can attest to.
Major’s latest release, A Song for Every Moon, garnered him more recognition and acclaim as his artistry is fully put on display in this twelve track album. This work also stands out because Major did not release the entirety of the album in full; rather he challenged himself to write and release a new song every month. If you’ve ever attempted to write a song, you already know the difficulty of creating and refining a piece, but with the added time constraint and deadline it is remarkable that Major put together such a moving work with his artistry put under pressure.
“Without a doubt, making A Song For Every Moon has been the most important experience of my life. I’ve learned some lessons about myself, for one that my perfectionism can cripple me creatively. I had to learn to let go, as whatever happened at the end of each month I had to put something out, even if I thought it sucked. The best thing is, by virtue of not having time to overthink I ended up making better music.” (courtesy of NME)
Now Bruno Major is taking the results of that year of intense creation on tour. Experience A Song for Every Moon live at the Chapel next Tuesday and be sure to check out the many awesome shows Noise Pop has lined up. noisepopfest.com
