A$AP Mob shut down Bill Graham Civic Auditorium on Wednesday night. In support of their most recent album, Cozy Tapes Vol. 2: Too Cozy (2017), the A$AP Mob’s Too Cozy Tour touched down in San Francisco. They brought all the energy and put on a show to remember right here in the Bay.
The show opened with a few members of the 16-man group performing singles off their own projects. A$AP Ant started the night off, followed by A$AP Nast, culminating with A$AP Twelvyy playing his biggest hit to date, “Strapped.” This was just a warm-up for the big night ahead.
Then, the real show started. With one of their biggest hits off the new album, the Mob began spitting the lyrics out to “Feels So Good” featuring A$AP Rocky, Ferg, Nast, Twelvyy and Ant all backstage while being filmed. They were trading verses back and forth and flexing on each other with a handheld camera live streaming the whole thing to the crowd. Finally, they all appeared on stage and went ham to “Yamborghini High,” followed by one of the biggest rap songs of the year, “RAF” featuring A$AP Rocky, Playboi Carti, Quavo, Lil Uzi Vert & Frank Ocean.
A$AP Ferg got the crowd rowdy with mosh pits and a gruesome wall of death with some of his own hard-hitting tracks “Work,” “Shabba,” and “New Level.” On a calmer note, Rocky slowed the show down with one of his more psychedelic songs, “L$D,” where trippy visuals lurked in the background. But the show picked up again when Rocky brought out his young prodigy, 15-year old rapper Smooky Margielaa, who is featured on the group’s album three times. All of A$AP Mob was out there to end the show on a hype note with “Lord Pretty Flacko Jodye 2.”
AWGEST was a month long takeover by AWGE (A$AP Rocky’s mysterious creative collection) and the Mob featuring multiple album releases. A$AP Twelvyy debuted his solo project titled 12 (2017), A$AP Ferg dropped his fourth solo project called Still Striving (2017) and the whole A$AP Mob released their second studio album, Cozy Tapes Vol. 2: Too Cozy (2017). With three albums from the collective members in August we know we’re in store for something big from Rocky. As he even said near the end of the show, “Flacko Jodye season is approaching…”
