On the back of recent sophomore album Underflow, UK alt-rock duo Drenge performed at Leo’s on Sunday night with support from Stalls and The New Regime. The New Regime (Ilan Rubin) was able to get the audience cheering and shouting comments, which Rubin rebutted smartly. In the brief set, he was able to showcase great musicianship.

Drenge opened with “Running Wild” from the new album; they soon too took control of the crowd including those audience members dancing close to the stage, often a difficult feat in smaller venues. Playing a set that included both Undertow and Drenge (2013) material, the Loveless brothers looked comfortable enough performing, with a few reservations. Eoin revealed a hint of shyness as he addressed to the crowd, thanking them for coming out and supporting them, although he was fully, confidently immersed in his performance and particularly during “We Can Do What We Want.” Peep our photos below.

Drenge will finish up their tour of the US with shows on the East Coast before playing festivals across the summer. Tour dates here.
