Los Angeles natives, Logan Light and Alex Seaver, otherwise known as Mako, lit up the San Francisco Social Hall March 9th on the third stop of their “Run For Your Life” tour. The band performed songs from their debut album Hourglass.

Seaver’s work on keyboards added the extra thunderous effect in songs like, “Let Go of the Wheel,” that filled a small venue like the Social Hall very well.  Light tried to share an intimate moment with the crowd and played an acoustic rendition of, “Smoke-Filled Room,” one of the band’s most famous hits. While the attempt was there, the outcome was a little stifled; some songs just sound better with the full effect.

Mako played almost every song from the track-list of their debut album, interspersed with some light interaction with the audience. Unfortunately, the plain and simple fact is that Mako does not have enough songs to really play a full-length show; the set lasted a generous 40 minutes but, like most shows at the Social Hall, the artist stuck around after to hang out with the audience at the merch tent for signings and pictures.

Mako will be touring until the end of April. Their tour takes them to various locations around the United States and Canada, including Chicago, Philadelphia, and back in the Bay Area at Ruby Skye on the 21st of April. You can stream Hourglass on Spotify.
